Ingredients:
1. Channa dal - 1/2 cup
2. Onion - 1
3. Green chilli - 1
4. Red chilli powder - 1/4 tsp
5. Ginger - 2 tsp finely chopped
6. Hing/ asafoeteda - 1/2 tsp
7. Curry leaves - 2 sprig
8. Salt to taste
9. Oil for frying
Steps to follow:
1. Soak dal for 2hrs. Then wash and drain the water completely.
2. Keep 1 tbsp of drained dal aside and coarsely grind the rest of dal in a mixer grinder for 3-5 pulses without adding any water (Do not make it to fine paste).
3. Add Onion, finely chopped Green chilli, Red chilli powder, Ginger, finely chopped Curry leaves, Hing, 1 tbsp of dal (that we kept aside) and Salt to the Grinded dal and mix well.
4. Heat a pan with enough oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot keep in medium/ low flame.
5. Wet your hands and make small balls of mix and flatten each ball within your palm. Then fry the vada on low/ medium flame till it become Crispy and brown in color.
Delicious Parippu vada is ready to have with Tea...!!!
