Donut Recipe


Ingredients:

1. Maida / all purpose flour - 2 cups
2. Powdered sugar - 1/4 cup
3. Salt - 1/4 tsp 
4. Sugar - 3 tsp
5. Instant yeast - 1 tsp
6. Egg - 1 (at room temperature)
7. Warm milk - 1/2 cup 
8. Oil/ Melted butter - 2 tbsp to add in mix
9. Oil for deep frying 

Steps to follow:

1. Take a bowl add one egg , 3 tsp sugar, 1/4 tsp salt. Then beat well until sugar dissolves completely.
2. Then add milk, instant yeast and mix well
3. Add 2 tbsp oil (or melted butter) and mix well.
4. Add this mix into Maida and mix well (we can add little bit warm water if dough is too thick). Dough should not be too thick or too loose but should be sticky.  Then apply little oil on the dough surface and keep for fermentation (minimum 2 hours) by covering with a wet cloth. Dough will become double in size after fermentation.




5. After fermentation beat the dough well.
6. Roll the dough and cut in circular shape, then in center make a small circular hole and place them on baking paper. Leave it for another half an hour by covering with a wet cloth.
7. Heat enough oil in a pan for deep frying. Once the oil is hot keep in low-medium flame and fry the donuts.
8. Then coat the hot donuts in powdered sugar or we can use chocolate ganache for dipping.
