Catla Fish Fry/ Kerala Style Fish Fry Recipe




Ingredients:

1. Catla - 500 g (4 pieces )
2. Kashmiri red Chilli powder - 2 tsp
3. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
4. Salt to taste
5. Oil - 3 tbsp

Steps to follow:

1. Add  2 tsp Kasmeri red chilli Powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, salt to the washed and cleaned  catla and mix well so that both the sides of the fish coats well. Keep the marinated fish minimum for half an hour.


2. Heat 3 tbsp oil in pan (for fish fry it is better to use non stick pan). Once the oil is hot add marinated fish pieces one by one.
3. Cover and cook the fish on low flame for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes keep in high flame for few minutes to make the fish crisp and golden in color.
4. Then lower the flame  to medium and flip it and cook for another 5 minutes without covering.
5. Once the fish is crisp and golden on both the sides switch off the flame.

Catla is ready to serve with Rice...!!!
